DISTINCTIVELY CATHOLIC
Formation Field™ is a distinctively Catholic human formation framework designed to strengthen parents as the first and primary formators of their children.
Grounded in Sacred Scripture, the wisdom of the Church, and informed by clinically grounded insight into human development and relational formation, Formation Field™ helps build the human foundation upon which enduring faith depends.
The Church intentionally forms her priests before entrusting them with the care of souls.
What becomes possible when we form parents with that same intentionality?
Through love. Through trust.

Parents shape far more than behavior or belief. They help form the human foundation through which identity, resilience, relational capacity, and openness to God take root.
When that foundation is strong, faith is far more likely to endure. Formation Field™ exists to strengthen the parent as formator—because the future of faith begins in the home.

The Church has long invested faithfully in catechesis, sacramental preparation, evangelization, and theological formation. These are essential.
But grace builds on nature.
Formation Field™ exists to address one of the Church’s most urgent unmet needs: the intentional formation of parents as the first and primary formators of the human person.
By strengthening the human foundation through which faith is received, embodied, and lived, Formation Field™ helps families more fully receive the formative and sacramental graces the Church already so faithfully offers.

Formation Field™ offers an integrated Catholic approach to strengthening parents to pass on the faith—bringing together the Church’s theological vision of the human person with clinically grounded insight into attachment, human development, relational formation, emotional resilience, and the human capacity for spiritual receptivity and transcendence.
Rooted in the Church’s understanding of the human person and our capacity for spiritual transcendence.
Grounded in human development, attachment, relational formation, and emotional resilience.
Forming the whole person by strengthening the foundational relational ecosystem of family life.

In Pastores Dabo Vobis, St. John Paul II affirmed a foundational truth:
Formation Field™ applies that same formative logic to the domestic church.
If the Church recognizes the importance of intentionally forming the priest before his vocation, what becomes possible when mothers and fathers are intentionally formed for theirs?
We cannot give what we have not first received.
God’s love is made manifest through relationship.
The human heart is ultimately drawn back to Him who is Love.
Formation Field™ is designed as a scalable ecosystem of Catholic formation pathways that accompany the defining developmental and relational stages of human life - forming the people and environments that shape belonging, resilient faith, healthy relationships, and enduring vocation within the Body of Christ.
Beginning with the domestic church, Formation Field™ strengthens mothers and fathers as the first and primary formators of the human person - while expanding to address the critical transitions of young adulthood, family legacy, relational restoration, and the broader formative ecosystems that shape Catholic life.
Scalable Catholic formation initiatives that strengthen families, parish vitality, young adult engagement, leadership development, and religious vocations.
Integrated formation pathways that strengthen the collaborative partnership between school, family, and the formation of future Catholic leaders.
Workshops, cohorts, and parish-based formation initiatives that foster belonging, family formation, and lived domestic church renewal.
Leadership and culture formation that strengthens mission-driven Catholic institutions from the inside out.
Catalytic opportunities to invest in scalable Catholic formation infrastructure with measurable institutional impact and enduring ecclesial fruit.
Before founding Formation Field™, Karen Lannigan built a career advising institutional investment clients - developing the analytical discipline, architectural thinking, and framework-based approach that now shape her response to one of the Church’s most urgent unmet needs: the intentional formation of parents.
Informed by graduate psychological study, direct Catholic family formation leadership, and lived motherhood, her work brings a rare integration of faith, human formation, and relational insight to the future of faith transmission.
Parents are being given information.
What they need is formation.

The future of faith will not be secured accidentally.
It will be formed - intentionally.
For the renewal of the family.
For the strengthening of the Church.
For the glory of God.
